GENERAL INFORMATION

Internal measuring of bores is more demanding than external measurement of workpieces. A unique cone-generated movement eliminates wear problems common to tools with acutely angled arms. The INTRIMIK® “capa µ system®” internal micrometer series is designed to meet the tight tolerances that internal measurements require, without complicated setups and excessive operator training. A three-point measuring system makes the tool self-centering and self-aligning, for consistently accurate measurements every time - even when different users are involved. The three measuring bolts are spaced 120 degrees apart for optimum self-centering. Analog sets are availabe in both metric and inch sets.  Or opt for the simple to read and configurable digital internal micrometer set.

TECHNICAL INFORMATION

Advantage of 3-line contact
Self-centering and self-aligning internal measuring instruments make bore measurement reliable and consistent from measurement to measurement and user to user.

A single measuring instrument can replace hundreds of plug gages
Unlike plug gages that check only one tolerated size, a single internal micrometer instrument can measure many diameters. Depending on the model that is being used, through bores and blind bores, as well as short centering shoulders, can be measured reliably.

Establishing form errors
Form errors are established by measurements made at several points on the bore. Measuring instruments with 3-line contact determine run-out errors in a triangular way. Measuring instruments with 2-point contact measure medium-size diameters only. They do not allow the user to differentiate diameters measured at various points.
