Megamat delivers storage systems for cleanrooms

The Healthcare-Company Nycoma from Austria has reorganized and extended the production of Callogen Sponge Blocks.

To save for this considerable increase of production a sufficient storage capacity the storage specialist Megamat integrated two vertical carousels in the building. Because of the installation within cleanroom production high requirements concerning safety function and cleanness are demanded. The storage conditions correspond to the cleanroom class "c" and by this installation areas have been won, and processes have been optimized.



Argo Kraichtal Germany

The following measures were taken:

1) The old shelf system was dismantled.
2) 6 FSE 3.5 2448-816/7085 megalifts were installed
3) All available storage containers that no longer fitted the system were replaced with new or original packaging from suppliers.
4) IT connection of the dynamic equipment (inc. 2 existing lifts from a foreign supplier) to host-controlled communication on the existing PPS system.
5) Exchange of order and item data using ASCII file transfer.

Result:

The measures taken allow for optimum use of the existing space. 25 % of the existing area is covered by FSE megalifts in series line-up. The warehouse administration office was brought into the immediate vicinity. Dispatch and packing have been accommodated in the same room.

Quick processing and uncomplicated dispatch – thanks to short distances – 3 less people are required in this area, despite having been forced to change to 3-shift operation because of the order situation.

Clean room warehousing technology:
Megamat supplies state-of-the-art warehousing system to Rohde & Schwarz.

Extremely high demands are made when it comes to storing highly sensitive electrical components for printed circuit boards. Only a few specialists can offer storage systems for such applications. One of these specialists is the ware housing system manufacturer Megamat from Neuburg/Kammel, who supplied two innovative Megasys Dry storage systems to Rohde & Schwarz.

Rohde & Schwarz GmbH & Co. KG, an international measuring, information and instrumentation company, uses the Megasys Dry storage systems primarily to keep components and spare parts for automotive printed circuit boards in a dry atmosphere for a period of three to maximum ten years. The latest requirements demand that these hygrosco pic parts are stored in dry rooms. Othmar Muhr, head of component production at Rohde & Schwarz: "In the past, we had to store the parts in nitrogen boxes with humidity of 15% and a high nitrogen consumption rate, but now we can keep to a constant humidity of 5%“. The system even undercuts the stipulations for humidity.
